Our client is one of the UK's largest online technology companies based in Edinburgh.

An existing opportunity has to come to market for an Events Executive to join a creative, forward thinking Communications team.

Day-to-day, here's what you can expect to be doing;

  • Work with the Sales team to support their strategy for growth by providing regional events for both lead generation and practice growth throughout the UK.
  • Ensure that objectives are clear and achievable for each event, and work with the appropriate teams to enable the objectives to be met
  • Ensure that all event products including stands, literature and merchandise is current and source replacements where necessary
  • Researching and assessing costs for events before talking to the Senior Event Manager
  • Making bookings, where appropriate, for:
  • Venue
  • Catering
  • Stand space
  • AV requirements
  • Staffing requirements
  • Advertising of event
  • Scheduling email activity
  • Social media slots
  • Keep all interested parties up to date on bookings, costs and what is required of internal attendees
  • Ensure all necessary items are in place in advance of the event, and organise collection and receipt of items back into storage
  • Monitor feedback from internal and external people after each event to evaluate the event and to ensure opportunities are maximised at future events
  • Work with the Senior Events Manager and the Head of Awareness where necessary, to deliver large scale events
  • Be responsible for the monitoring of standard merchandise for everyday use

  • Have previous experience organising events
  • Have an excellent eye for detail
  • Have the ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions under pressure
  • Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Have previous experience working as part of a team
  • Be able to work quickly and independently
  • Have great interpersonal skills
  • Have excellent listening skills with the ability to ask for clarification, as needed
  • Be collaborative - can work effectively as part of a small team or the wider organisation; willing to share information and knowledge with the rest of the team.
  • Be aware of what is trending in the world of events, and share this with the rest of the events team
  • Have a high level of self-motivation
