Equipment Support Specialist

Contract - 6 months, possibly longer

Location - Glasgow

Salary - Competitive salary and fantastic flexible benefits package

Our client is looking for a positive, proactive and self-motivated Equipment Support Specialist to join their global warehousing and distribution facility in Glasgow on a full-time, contract basis. This will initially be a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension thereafter.

The Equipment Support Specialist is a key role within the team and is responsible for supporting onshore and offshore project delivery alongside both project and operational teams to oversee the selection, preparation, purchasing, calibration, and mobilisation/demobilisation of all equipment, spares and consumables necessary for the effective and efficient delivery of projects.

Experience and qualifications:

  • A background in Engineering (automated engineering/ maintenance/electronics).
  • Degree qualified or qualified by relevant experience within a comparable role.
  • Assumes accountability for effective delivery of own work objectives.
  • Communicates effectively and articulately at all levels.
  • Works well independently, shows good initiative, demonstrates good decision-making skills and responses proactively to problems/issues.
  • Display a commitment to self-improvement, education and development.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Create draft equipment lists for each project for Equipment Department review.
  • Create and maintain internal Equipment RFO document for each project.
  • Create and maintain Project Information Sheet for each project.
  • Create and maintain department schedule to show overall spread of all onshore and offshore projects.
  • Assist with preparation of equipment requirements to meet project specifications.
  • Assist with identifying, sourcing and pricing additional equipment as required.
  • Prepare supporting information for materials and equipment requisitions.
  • Liaise with stores and logistics functions to ensure equipment is delivered to site as required.
  • Support mobilisation/set up and demobilisation of equipment on site.
  • Assist with forecasting usage of equipment and consumables and provide recommendations on efficient procurement, hire arrangements, deployment and stock levels.
  • Contribute to the development of systems/procedures and improvement programmes.
  • Contribute to the tendering process when required.
  • Assist in recording equipment usage and recoveries on utilisation.
  • Working with site and vessels to record usage of on site spares and consumables and ensure stock levels are maintained.
