Job Title Environmental Scientist / Engineer

Position Description

We are seeking an Environmental Scientist / Engineer to join the Environmental Engineering Division (EED) of Environmental Protection Department The EED is responsible for fulfilling the following strategic objectives in the fields of air quality, meteorology, hazardous waste management, terrestrial ecology, and marine protection: Assure compliance, Enhance performance, Promote stewardship and Shape policy The Environmental Scientist / Engineer will provide high level consultations to support company strategies and policies in GHG and climate related aspects.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you will hold a Master's degree or PhD in environmental or chemical engineering (Air Quality/GHG emissions focus) from a recognized and approved program. A Professional Engineering (PE) certification or equivalent is preferred The candidate should have at least fifteen (15) years of professional experience in environmental fields including climate change and GHG management. It is preferred to have a minimum of ten years of experience in GHG/climate change field in the oil and gas or similar industries The candidate should have sufficient knowledge and expertise of WRI GHG gas protocol (accounting and reporting standard), ISO 14064-1, IPIECA/API/OGP Petroleum industry guidelines for reporting greenhouse gas emissions The candidate should demonstrate proven experience in establishing and managing GHG emissions management programs at a corporate level, and support reporting requirements related to Climate Change and GHG emissions for Corporate Sustainability reports The candidate must be willing and able to conduct fieldwork The candidate must have extensive post-graduate participation in technical seminars, continual education courses and workshops, and/or industrial research The candidate must have presented technical papers at international and local conferences and/or published work in renowned, peer-reviewed technical journals Experience in industry standards for Air Emissions including GHG is a requirement

Duties & Responsibilities

Establish business goals and GHG reduction opportunities Conduct research and interpretation on air quality and climate change legislation and policy Evaluate Climate Change GHGs emissions pathways and Energy Outlooks Assess climate change risks and impacts, Interpret International and National Ambient Air Quality Standards and Emissions Standards Perform research tasks of significant technical complexity, as well as develop and implement innovative and creative technical solutions.

The incumbent will also interact with government and international entities pertaining to climate change reporting mechanisms. Oversee the development and implementation of the Corporate GHG protocol, and lead new technologies or research initiatives in the field of GHG reduction and challenges related to climate changes aspects. Support the professional development of young Saudi engineers in areas related to environmental assessment, management, and technologies. Conduct Environmental assessments of the company facilities Conduct Environmental studies in various topics pertaining to Air Quality
