Job Purpose

The Engineering Team is responsible for implementing the Engineering Framework (Competence, Compliance, Legislation, Policy & Procedures) and ensuring that the assets of the Company are fit for purpose by providing technical support to the business.

The Engineering Manager - Gas Quality and Measurement will provide assurance that the equipment associated with gas quality and measurement at the Company's regulatory directed sites is designed, constructed, operated and maintained in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements and Company policy, and to ensure that gas transported in the networks is within specification.

Knowledge and Experience

* Detailed knowledge of the Gas Safety (Management) Regulations and The Gas (Calculation of Thermal Energy) Regulations.

* Good experience of the design, commissioning or operation of high pressure and high volume fiscal accuracy metering and gas quality measurement equipment.

* Managerial experience of technical staff.

Technical Know How

* Sound working knowledge the gas industry safety and engineering policies, procedures and standards, particularly for the Management of New Works, Modification and Repairs. If not familiar with Company specific requirements, a demonstrable ability to assimilate and develop understanding of engineering policies and procedures and requirements.

* Sound working knowledge of the theory and practice of gas measurement, including Ultrasonic, Orifice Plate and Turbine Meters, Gas Chromatographs and Gas Treatment (Odorisation) equipment.

Essential Qualifications

CEng IET/IGEM/Institute of Measurement & Control or other relevant engineering institution

Degree qualified - relevant engineering degree

Full valid UK Driving Licence
