The purpose of this post is to support the Emergency Preparedness Lead in establishing policies, arrangements and capabilities to deliver a robust and effective response to emergencies during construction, commissioning and operation of the Nuclear Power Plant.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND TRAINING

Mandatory

  • Evidence of academic achievement and relevant professional development
  • Demonstrates a track record of success, achievement and learning in career to date, adding value within relevant positions.
  • Experience of implementing and testing of emergency plans within high hazard industries or within the UK nuclear industry.
  • Understanding of appropriate statue such as Control of Major Accident Hazards, Radiation (Emergency Planning and Public Information) Regulations, Nuclear Installations Act, Civil Contingencies Act and other relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of guidance documents including Approved Codes of Practice.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to include documentation and presentation skills.
  • Problem solving and solution focussed.
  • Ability to learn, adapt and thrive, delivering value in a changing and evolving organisation.
  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours aligned to company values: safety, courage, integrity, collaboration and inspiration.
  • Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel as required.

Desirable

  • An understanding of the energy sector with experience of UK nuclear industry and particularly power reactors, light water experience.
  • Experience of working with regulators.
  • Familiarity with the Nuclear Emergency Planning Liaison Group (NEPLG) guidance.
  • Experience developing emergency plans within high hazard industries or the UK nuclear industry.
