Electricity Distribution Trainer - High Voltage Authorisation

In order to develop operational staff training, you will instruct and assess staff in the Rules, Procedures and underlying knowledge enabling them to work on Electricity Distribution networks as a Competent, Authorised or Senior Authorised Person. You will be the business expert, able to advise on operational procedures in order to work safely on HV networks.

Ensuring business requirements are met, you will be responsible for maintaining safe working practices and monitoring training material. You will support staff in gaining the relevant Authorisations for all categories up to, and including, full Senior Authorised Person. You will also complete 4-yearly reassessments and Mid Term Reviews for authorised staff. For reviews and site audits, you may need to travel to alternative sites and business units if required.

For this role, you should have an excellent knowledge of the national Model Distribution Safety Rules, as well as technical experience for the full range of electrical operational authorisations, including issue of Sanction for Test documents.

You will be an excellent communicator, both face to face and in writing and will be excellent at building professional working relationships with a wide variety of colleagues. We would ideally like a candidate with experience in coaching , teaching and assessing however full training will be given to candidates who hold the relevant technical skills and can evidence the right potential to become a successful Trainer. You will need to be highly organised and able to meet deadlines to allow you to plan and deliver training material.

Qualifications to instruct and assess would be a benefit, however, training will be provided (Level 3 Award in Education and Training and TAQA Assessor Qualification or equivalent).
