Work with Lead Design Engineer to ensure that the design and engineering deliverables meet the client specifications and comply with the project objectives

Maintain a collaborative attitude to maximise cooperation and shared learning with the other members of the design and engineering team

Support Lead Design Engineer in delivering the projects on time and within budget

Establishment and maintenance of both the extensive cable containment network and the cable routing requirements in strict compliance with the client cabling specification and the nuclear installation rules

Assist with the establishment and maintenance of risk and opportunity matrices

Ensure the engineering requirements of the project schedule are met to enable the respective milestones and key dates to be achieved

Maintenance of the appropriate quality management systems and records commensurate with a nuclear installation

Financial: Value of the Design and Engineering element of the contract is circa £50m

Organisational: Member if a team of circa 10 UK based engineers plus liaison with our design subcontractors. Must hold a current passport for travel to meetings with the design team.

Internal: There will be interfaces with the design team, other internal disciplines such as procurement, Quality Assurance, safety, planning, etc. Plus, via the lead design engineer, our design subcontractor and site construction team

To be considered for this role you must display the following technical abilities;

An appreciation of NEC3 contract terms and conditions

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidiscipline design team environment

Ability to work to tight project deadlines

Proactive attitude, adaptable approach and good communication skills are essential

Working knowledge of CDM 2015, designer's duties and an overall knowledge of site safety

Use of quality management systems appropriate to nuclear installation

Innovative and proactive approach to engineering issues

Experience of computer aided cable management systems

Experience of extensive cable systems involving significant numbers of cables, associated levels of cable containment plus the complexities of cable segregation and system commissioning

Experience of using 3D CAD models for coordination and constructability reviews

Experience of site installations in order to identify and address both installation issues and opportunities at the design stage

Qualifications Required;

HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering

Membership of a professional body such as the IET is preferred
