Job Purpose

The Engineering Team is responsible for implementing the Engineering Framework (Competence, Compliance, Legislation, Policy & Procedure) and ensuring that the assets of the Company are fit for purpose by providing technical support to the business.

The Engineering Manager - Electrical and Instrumentation will provide assurance that the Company's operational electrical, instrumentation and telemetry systems are designed, constructed, operated and maintained in accordance with legislative requirements, Company policies, procedures and standards.

This role acts as the Responsible Engineer and Competent Authority for electrical systems, accountable for application of the Electricity at Work Regulations and at all Company operating sites.

Knowledge & Experience

* Detailed knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002.

* Demonstrable experience assessing competence and authorising electrical personnel.

* Good experience of the operation of electrical safety in hazardous environments.

* To have worked in an electrical and instrumentation engineering environment with responsibility for one or more of the following areas; design, new works installations or maintenance work and to have held a senior role or supervisory role within these functions.

* Managerial experience of technical staff.

Technical Know How

* Sound working knowledge of the gas industry safety and engineering policies, procedures and standards, particularly for the Management of New Works, Modification and Repairs. If not familiar with Company specific requirements, a demonstrable ability to assimilate and develop understanding of engineering policies and procedures and requirements.

* Sound working knowledge of ATEX and UK electrical standards.

Essential Qualifications

CEng IET/IGEM or relevant engineering institution

Degree qualified - relevant electrically focussed engineering degree

Full valid UK Driving Licence
