EC&I Engineer

12 month contract

Location: Dunbar

Rate of pay £28-36 per hour (LTD)

The position is within the Fuel Route Improvement Team (FRIT) based in Power station.

The FRIT team is responsible for improving the reliability of degraded Fuel Route plant and apparatus. This shall be achieved by engineering and installing solutions to replace the degraded plant and apparatus. Additionally, FRIT Engineers shall identify and engineer enhancements to Fuel Route processes to improve their efficiency.

The successful candidate would be responsible for overseeing projects by which degraded or obsolete plant and equipment are replaced with either like for like or modern equivalent components.

Where replacement components are not like for like, the FRIT Engineer is required to author Engineering Change submissions which mitigate and justify the new components in terms of fit, form and function.

Additionally, the Engineering Change shall substantiate that the replacement component does not degrade the Nuclear or Radiological Safety Case claims of the original design.

The successful candidate would also be required to produce Installation and Test Procedures defining the methodology of the component installation and subsequent testing and commissioning.
The FRIT Engineer would also produce Energy Work Order Cards detailing the Task Instructions enabling FRIT Craftsmen to install and commission the new components.

You should hold relevant qualification at HNC level or above.
