Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Drilling Engineer (Well Engineering.

Responsibilities will include:
Provision of front-end engineering and feasibility studies in support of new company projects and wells as directed by the Well Engineering Leader.
Provide input on well abandonment workscopes into decommissioning studies to be carried out for UK assets. The studies will comprise offset reviews, feasibility analysis and front-end engineering design. The output of these studies will be costs, durations and areas for potential improvement of performance and reduction in cost.
Ensure all options are considered early in the project planning cycle to create opportunity, value and the potential for developing the optimum well design or abandonment design.
Ensure that company rules and local standards are applied to all designs and concepts. Seek advice on the potential for derogations where there is a significant economic or technical advantage to not following the company rules.
Ensure wells related risks and opportunities are identified early and incorporated into the project risk registers and planning process.
Investigate new techniques or technologies as directed. Undertake studies and applying technical skills and innovative thinking to obtain positive outcomes: propose changes and/or innovations with properly identified risks and expected benefits.
Positively participate in teams of multi-disciplinary engineers in providing engineering solutions. Liaise with the representatives from the Geology, Reservoir and Production departments during the project and planning phases, ensuring scheduling of well engineering workscopes is fully integrated and aligned with other key stakeholders.
Accurately prepare budget and duration estimates required for projects.

Qualifications & Experience
BSc of MSc or equivalent in appropriate engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Offshore or Petroleum)
Extensive experience in well engineering.
Organisational skills to prioritise and manage workload in a rapidly changing environment.
Effective interpersonal skills with confidence to lead Wells input during discussions at multi-disciplinary project team meetings.
Good computer skills, especially in Drilling Engineering software.
Knowledge of UKCS suspension and abandonment guidelines.
