Design Engineer

Experienced in Automotive using Catia V5.

Plastic Injection mould parts design.

Develop new technology innovations from concept through to functional prototypes.

Develop concept ready technology to produce validated production intent designs.

Execute technical programmes to meet agreed deliverables.

Interface with customers and suppliers covering a broad range of project activities.

Application of automotive industry processes for new technology and product development.

Participation within multiple technical project and teams.

Execution of engineering design and development tasks in accordance with automotive industry product development processes (e.g. Advanced product quality planning, APQP) and New Product Introduction (NPI) process.

Interface with manufacturers and suppliers to complete Cost Engineering (CE) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities at component level.

Broad knowledge of automotive technology and mechanical design.

Prior experience of managing engineering development tasks or work packages with a track record of delivery to deadlines.

Knowledge and understanding of automotive industry development processes.

An analytical approach to decision making.

Experience of working effectively in multi-discipline teams.

Design engineering / component engineering experience.
