Our client is an engineering company based in Central Scotland who service the Marine/Shipbuilding industry
and are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join their team.

The Design Engineer will primarily be responsible for design, creation and maintenance of drawings and providing technical support. This particular role will focus mainly on design and drawing creation for jigs, fixtures and special tools which are required to satisfy in house manufacturing and test activities and, on occasion, to assist with external jig, fixture and tool demands. Where no jig, fixture and tool requirements exist, the Design Engineer will carry out general support duties within the Engineering Support Team.

You should have experience with solid modelling design tools and structural analysis using finite element modelling. A working understanding of hydraulic circuits and components would be desirable as well as an awareness of military environment requirements, including equipment standards for safety, EMC, shock, noise and vibration and ideally hazardous areas. A qualification in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at Degree level or HNC is required.

There is a requirement for travel for short periods of time away from home.
