Orion Group are looking for a Demand Planner for our multinational medical devices client based in the Limerick area on an initial 12-month contract with the potential to extend.


Job Purpose
Demand Shaping by adding Market Intelligence and accounting for Product Lifecycle Management through collaboration with other Supply Chain functions, as well as with Marketing and Sales and Finance. Adheres to environmental policy, procedures, and supports department environmental objectives.


Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Add Market Intelligence (Customer & Marketing Events):
    Review statistical forecast generated and provide input on any changes required
    * Collect information and collaborate with other functions such as Marketing, Sales, Finance etc. to identify events
    * Incorporate Customer and/or Market event demand that is not yet captured through the use representative sales history and statistical modeling
    * Generate scenarios considering products, past event data, customer/market analysis, cannibalization, substitution, and other relevant parameters
  • Account for Product Lifecycle (NPI and End of Life):
    Collect information and collaborate with other Supply Chain functions ,as well as with Marketing and Sales, and Finance.
    * Utilize alternative methods such as market models, life cycle profiles, and data substitution to generate scenarios testing sensitivity to an array of parameters to arrive and align on the most probable forecast.
    * Generate and update system forecast for new products and end of life exceptions
  • Other Responsibilities:
    Enables PLAN to deliver/improve service & inventory targets by delivering/improving forecast measures for her/his portfolio
    * Provide demand input to the S&OP process to allow for transparency of risks and opportunities. Participates in Demand Review and other S&OP forums as applicable

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • University Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics & Predictive Analytics.
    Supply Chain Certification (APICS, IBF etc.) desirable
  • 0-5 years related experience
  • Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) & Advanced Planning Systems (OMP) is preferred
  • Work well independently as well as in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Adaptable and flexible approach.
