Demand & Inventory Manager, outskirts of Edinburgh, £33,000 to £37,000

Our client, a leading manufacturing business that is both independently owned but with a world-wide, international presence, is now looking for a stock management professional for their UK operations near Edinburgh.

You will be responsible for the following main areas;

  • MRP expert contributing practical, commercial input to the Supply Chain Team
  • 'Cradle to grave' stock management in UK, from new product introduction to obsolete parts management
  • Contribution to the creation of the supply chain strategy and implementation and management of an S&OP process to improve forecast accuracy
  • Establish the forecasting process sharing best practice with the manufacturing teams
  • Ensure the right products are available at the right time, reducing costs while maintaining quality, leading to reduced inventory
  • Maintaining stock levels
  • Own the stock accuracy process over all product categories serving multiple distribution channels

Experience Required;

  • Mid -Senior level experience in similar role
  • A Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) guru who can interpret business needs with our clients manufacturing partners, balancing stock with freight and production capacity
  • A proficient Consumer Goods Supply Chain professional with previous experience managing activities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrable experience of managing stock across multiple locations and business channels is advantageous
  • Natural drive for continuous improvement and who has a flair for implementing structured processes & procedures
  • Far East imports and European supply chain experience
  • Experience of working within an ERP system driven environment is essential.

This role is based near Edinburgh with good links to the A720 bypass, commutable from Tranent, Musselburgh, Leith, Edinburgh, North Berwick, Dunbar, Prestonpans, Port Seton, Dalkeith, Gorebridge, Bonnyrigg, Livingston, Broxburn, Kirkliston, Queensferry, East Lothian, Mid Lothian, West Lothian.
