Orion Group are recruiting a Database Analyst (Permanent Role) on behalf of our Multinational Medical Device Client.

This role is based in North Scotland.

The roles and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Manage the SQL estate and help drive the SQL Architecture to ensure that the databases serve the complex business needs
  • Troubleshoot problems and conduct analysis for efficient program/application solutions to support business processes and functional requirements
  • Evaluate and make recommendations concerning software additions and upgrades acting as a technical expert to help drive decisions
  • Performing routine audits of systems and software and proactively address legacy platform and data issues
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Developing technical solutions to business problems by defining, analysing and documenting requirements.
  • Partner with global IT Teams to support initiatives such as Analytics, Business Intelligence and bring forward technology initiatives that can drive tangible business value
  • Continuously improve data quality and usage software products and applications whilst ensuring high availability and data integrity
  • Provide support of regulated Supply Chain application databases and systems to comply with cGMP regulations related to FDA, EU GMP Annex 11 and GAMP standards
  • Help with writing, reviewing and executing computer validation documentation (Validation plan, IQ, OQ, DQ, SOP)
  • Supports and/or actively participates in change control, and validation efforts

Job Requirements

Education Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Computing, Information Technology or related technical discipline

Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certifications
  • SQL Server Certifications

Skills Preferences:

  • Experience supporting SQL Server databases
  • Experience of managing databases within a tightly controlled or regulated environment
  • Some project management experience
  • Advanced SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012 experience
  • Advanced SQL scripting
  • Windows clustering, High availability, SQL AlwaysOn and Windows Server experience
  • MySQL and Oracle experience is also desirable
