My client is a market leading service provider in chilled and frozen distribtion. They have an exciting 6-12 month FTC, based at their international Depot in Dover. This is consultative project role for an experienced Customs Compliance Manager.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Advise and guide the company management in all matters relating to the Import and Export Customs Clearance relevant to Post Brexit Customs clearance operations; inclusive of all changes of new Government guidelines/instructions.
  • Design the structure of the Customs clearance department and implement the structure according to the anticipated workload inclusive of manpower allocation to task.
  • Oversee the Employment of new staff and arrange the training of them in accordance with the applicable Custom Clearance procedures as of 01.01.2021.
  • Full P/L responsibility of the Customs Clearance department as of 01.01.2021
  • Ensuring that all necessary internal and external technical Custom Clearance appliances, software and the working processes relevant to the working practise as of 01.01.21 are implemented and communicated to all parties and stakeholders involved.
  • Advise customers and oversee the implementation of any agreed or required Customs clearance action plans.
  • You must be fully conversant with all aspects of Custom Clearance procedures
  • You are keeping yourself fully informed with regards to the political negotiations and are aware of the current position between the UK and the EU. You have the ability to assess the impact that the various options will have on the UK economy (customers/shippers/receivers) in respect of the customs clearance requirements.
  • IT literate in Microsoft Office packages and have the ability to compile, analyse and interpret relevant data
  • Proven experience in a people management role
