Customer Service Account Handler, Dalkeith, To £19,000

Working for a great manufacturing company in Midlothian, our client are looking to hire someone with good administrative experience along with ERP/MRP experience.


  • To ensure professional image is maintained through all internal and external communication.
  • To verify orders received into the Team from sales executives or corporate sales as technically realistic and commercially approved.
  • To administer orders against a created schedule to achieve manufacturing week.
  • This to be done via accurate and timely monitoring of, amongst others, sales orders received and keyed, copy and PFP dates, order acknowledgements, stock availability, additional costs incurred by customer, delivery schedule report, revised dates, allocating, reporting on delivery and liaising with customer where appropriate.
  • To be proactive in monitoring all critical dates both internal and external, relevant to production of a customer's order.
  • To raise and/or amend specifications when required.
  • To ensure that query handling (including disputes and credits) is resolved correctly and promptly.
  • To minimise potential quality problems
  • To ensure all necessary systems are accurately and promptly kept up to date
  • To raise accurate origination and print orders for customers' special print and blocks.
  • To monitor PFP/blocking progress to ensure timely adherence to schedules.
  • To bring to a resolution any technical problems raised from production which need the input of reps or customers.
  • To be linked to a particular rep for queries, and to ensure all rep requests, for anything from sample materials to account queries to production information, are acted upon in a timely manner.
  • To deal effectively with general sales enquiries and field to relevant sales representative or agent.
  • When necessary, to pull together the relevant information to allow the samples department to operate effectively and promptly.
  • When necessary, to provide samples requested via sales enquiry, representative or agent.
  • To maintain all necessary customer files to ensure easy understanding of files
  • If and when necessary, to visit a customer with the rep to maintain a smooth working relationship and by early identification of potential problems
  • Where requested, compile, monitor and distribute reports deemed necessary to the running of the business on a regular and timely basis.
  • Other activities for which the job holder is reasonably qualified



  • Operate effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple customer orders at difference stages of the process
  • Represent the customer internally
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively to ensure timely delivery of service to each customer
  • Calmly and effectively resolve customer queries in a timely manner


  • Microsoft office - Word, Excel and Outlook - basic to intermediate
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • Experience of dealing and resolving customer queries and complaints
  • General admin experience

This role is commutable from Dalkeith, Musselburgh, Wallyford, Penicuik, Dunbar, North Berwick, Leith, Edinburgh, Gorebridge, Balerno, Prestonpans.
