Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Cost Estimator on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Muscat. For further information about this position please apply.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Delivering of Capital Cost Estimates with focus on enhancing accuracy and execution.
* Develop and adhere to estimates/proposal timelines and deliverable requirements;
* Responsible for independently applying advanced estimating techniques and analysis within the discipline.
* Interaction with project team members from all design disciplines including project management, client reps, and others 3rd party consultants.
* Write estimate plans, review scope of work, develop & assemble estimate data, review estimates (discipline, management, client), and write estimate basis document with qualifications & assumptions.
* Participate in estimate reviews and presentations with management, Project Manager and project team members.
* Organize and manipulate large amounts of data to provide accurate answers to the variety of departments which depend on the analysis of data collected by the estimating team
* Transform an estimate into a budget to meet the requirements of project execution team
* Contribute effectively within a team of senior professionals to coordinate the details of a mega-project
* Perform cold-eye reviews of estimates produced by other companies
* Estimate the impact of scope changes during the project execution phase and help establish the project's change-tracking system
* Understand your estimate's deliverables and schedule, and report potential problems in time for the department to assist when required
* Run Risk Analysis
* Calculate contingency, risk and escalation

Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in an estimating role, preferably in an industrial construction environment;
* Degree, diploma in Engineering or related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
* Experience working with a range of Industrial projects including large capital, small capital, maintenance and/or O&M
* Cleopatra and/or Aspen Capital Cost Estimating software knowledge and experience is preferred;
* Proficient with reading drawings and specifications, performing material take-offs and quantifying scopes of work to translate into cost estimates;
* Detail oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful, with strong interpersonal skills;
* Proficient with Microsoft office software tools (MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint);
* Strong time management skills, confidentiality, and professionalism
