Our client is the UK's leading Engineering Support Services company employing over 27,000 people worldwide operating in the Defence, Mining & Construction, Rail, Nuclear, Energy, Property Management and Education & Training sectors.

Our client has a major infrastructure upgrade and modernisation programme and is seeking to design and build major new facilities over the next 5 years to support the Ministry of Defence. The infrastructure programme is currently finalising the concept design and seeking to mobilise further resources to support the scheme and detailed design phase as well as commencing onsite physical enabling works to support the longer term construction contract.

A Project Cost Engineer is required for the Nuclear Facility Infrastructure department which delivers complex upgrades and modifications to facility assets and infrastructure in support of the Submarine maintenance programme at the Naval base. The department has a significant forthcoming workload with essential construction and upgrade projects to support the Submarine programme. The projects are diverse and encompass mechanical, electrical and civil elements across the full EPCM lifecycle.

You should have proved experience in applying budgeting and cost control techniques within a complex environment and ideally a bachelor's degree in engineering / project / construction management or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is also desirable, as is membership in a professional body.

Awareness of various contracting methodologies (eg FIDIC/NEC3/JCT etc…)
Advanced knowledge of cost management techniques
