Job Title - Cost Controller

Job Overview

* Ensures budget adherence in projects

* Assists and develops all procedures in World Class project controlling (time and money) to create solid platform for financial reporting (WIP) for Finance UK

* Day to day financial control of assigned projects

KPI's

* Timely Invoicing according to Contracts

* Timely reporting of WIP and Margin Slippage

* Timely closing off of Projects

* HSE

Responsibilities

* Cost Controller for Client

* Submission of Subcontractor Timesheets to Agencies on a weekly basis

* Approval and reconciliation of Supplier Invoices

* Weekly meetings with management, updating them on the financial part of the project.

* Evaluation ETC and EAC

* Controlling the cash flow, making sure the costumer pays on time

* Leads and plans the monthly Estimate at Completion process and ensures correct update of IFS weekly

* Maintain VOR register

* Maintain client / customer cost reporting requirements, in conjunction with the Project Manager, ensuring that the data produced complies with company internal policies & procedures

* Approves all Orders Received of Projects in IFS and changes to EAC in IFS

* Correct recording of hours and costs in the Work Breakdown Structure

* Ownership & maintenance of the internal Project Schedule and EAC tracking system for each project

* Maintain the Project Milestone Payment Schedule and proper invoicing as per project progress plan

* Challenge the project organisation to improve performance on project execution, IFS usage, customer payments etc.

* Prepare EAC forecasts for each project and multiple work scopes (in conjunction with PM)

* Track & report on all financial aspects of agreed VOR

* Prepare daily, weekly & monthly cost report content for internal and customer needs as required

* Prepare Senior Management cost summaries for each Project in conjunction with PM

* Ensure all costs data is validated before submission of internal & external reports

* Status meeting with client/ customer representatives

* Status meeting with project team, Finance Manager UK.

* Liaise with suppliers & sub-contractors on financial control matters

* Liaise with colleagues in other global offices

* Work independently with a structured and targeted approach to all work tasks

* Continuous focus on process and reporting improvements

* Drive WIP process and monthly meetings and adjust where necessary. Highlight problem areas and discuss in detail with Project Managers / Finance Manager and UK Directors

* Work alongside JRE's in UK and give financial assistance where required

* Project Invoicing

* Work alongside Buyers and JRE's to ensure projects are closed in a timely manner

* Achieve tight deadlines and produce high quality work

* Assist in other divisions where required

* Ad-hoc Duties for Finance

Accountable

* Preparation and distribution of WIP reports Operations Manager of Divisions

* Ensures the integrity and validity of the Order Book at sales value and GM (opening balance, orders received, revenue and closing balance)

* High quality in all phases of the Estimate to Complete process

* High quality reporting of projects to Management team

Consulted

* WIP meetings with JRE, Mid-Month and JRE, Finance Manager and UK Directors - End of Month

Required skills and experience

* Must demonstrate a strong capability within the use of ERP systems and, also in the use of all Microsoft Office programs, in particular Excel.

* Willingness to travel in the UK and Abroad when required

* In addition, personal attributes will include
