Cost Analyst

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Cost Analyst, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Assist the team to embed a culture of continuous cost efficiency improvement across the Asset, by:
* Highlighting overall trends of costs and gap analysis
* Identifying cost drivers and measures
* Supporting where appropriate the cost impacts of commitment proposals with Non routine and Capex
* Analysing costs and forecasts, as directed, to provide variance analysis, this includes cost allocations and charge back mechanisms
* Assist in the preparation of detailed and summarised cost estimates for Budget Holders, Management etc
* Assist in the preparation of the Budgets and Forecasts and take responsibility for the cost reporting of this data for specific areas of the asset, as directed
* Liaise with all the central cost control teams to ensure consistent work scopes and budget scenarios
* Support the asset budget owners with guidance and reports to enable proactive mgmt. of budgets
* Ensure compliance to all internal control and SOX procedures
* Progress invoice approval with technical and financial approvers
* Ensure correct coding applied to all commitments
* Provide guidance and support to the Cost Administration and Contract Compliance roles
* Actively participate in the cost leadership culture of the Asset
* Actively participate in Asset special projects by the Continuous Improvement and Asset Evolution Team

Experience & Qualifications:
* Relevant experience preferably in the Oil and Gas industry in a business, commercial or finance environment
* Proven track record of managing joint venture partners and external auditors
* Familiar with budget preparation, cost control and planning within a large organisation
* General understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry
* Computer literate with experience of various applications (primarily SAP, Excel and PowerPoint)
* Accomplished analytical & decision-making skills
