This role is an entry level position into the finance team with some or limited exposure to Finance. 2 months to 2 years Finance related experience from practice or industry will be accepted.

An international leading exploration and production company seek a high achieving, high performing Financial Analyst to be based in Central London sitting in a Finance team of 6, reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Accounting. The role will provide a fantastic opportunity to kick start your Finance career with a fantastic organisation who will provide the support and mentoring to ensure you are getting the best out of your abilities. The role will provide you with the opportunity to work as part of the Europe Commercial Finance Team and obtain an understanding of the marketing and support activities.

Duties to be involved with/support:

  • Invoicing and settlement processes for all commodities
  • Processing of Accounts Payables and Receivables functions
  • Transfer price calculation for UK equity purchases
  • Process the revenue and cost of sales (COGS) accruals
  • Prepare month-end accounting journal entries for input into SAP
  • Process the gas transportation cost accruals and provide reporting
  • Upload data onto the internal system twice a week
  • Review and process intercompany and intracompany balances
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Liaison for internal and external Audit
  • Ad-hoc project work as requested - including process improvement, system upgrades, new initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong academic background
  • A Levels - high grades
  • Recent graduate with degree 2:1 in Business/Finance/Accounting
  • Early studier with a desire to study for a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA/ACA/CIMA

Critical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas preferred but not essential
  • Strong organisation skills including ability to work independently, prioritise activities, meet commitments, and manage time effectively
  • Strong business acumen
  • Focused and methodical
  • Numeric and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office to include Excel - Pivots/Vlook Ups
  • Use of Accounting software for e.g. SAP, Oracle - desirable
