Working for a leading Mechanical and Electrical Contractor in the UK in all sectors of the industry. The Business Unit at Swindon is a successful and expanding location specialising in commercial and industrial building services projects, major design and build projects and significant high voltage network and infrastructure installations. We are currently seeking a new Contracts Engineer to join our dynamic team to assist in business growth and expansion.

This role will involve the Contract and Project Management of multiple Building Services projects from conception to completion inclusive of the following to ensure all safety, quality, technical and commercial requirements are met;

- Engineering support to estimators and bid teams

- Design development

- Client management and development

- SHE management, project planning and operational delivery

- Setting to work and management of on-site teams

- Contract, Financial and Cost Management

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will possess excellent project management and communication skills, good client and customer relation skills in electronic and face to face scenarios. You'll have an ability to work in a team environment with engineering teams as well as the management of operational teams and operatives. You'll be self-motivated to achieve team and personal targets and objectives set and be able to apply financial and budgetary controls to maximise profit returns. In addition you'll have sufficient business acumen to identify opportunity and potential in a competitive market. As an individual you'll be enthusiastic, innovative and open take on new challenges. surrounding SHE standards.

A proven track record of managing a portfolio of projects ranging from £100k to £1m would be highly desirable as would an electrical or mechanical background in a contracting environment.

You should have an HNC qualification or equivalent in either an electrical or mechanical discipline and working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and management of NEC3 Contracts. You'll have no problem understanding technical drawings and will have good knowledge of general office applications inclusive of MS Project (or alternative).
