US multinational energy business is seeking a Contracts Analyst to join their team in Central London on a permanent basis.

Basic Purpose / Accountabilities:

The role is responsible for management, administration and co-ordination of contractual agreements which support the buying and selling of physical crude oil, refined products traded commodities and paper derivative products. This role is not a legal role, but a mid-office internal and external facing commercial role.

Primary Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring company business interests are safeguarded by the development, preparation, review, execution and/ or amendment of general terms & conditions and contractual agreements
  • Close liaison with key internal stakeholders to facilitate functional review when drafting general terms & conditions, agreements, updating precedent agreements, and negotiating external customer terms
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders regarding contract status, acceptability of contract terms and the commercial and legal implications of contract issues
  • Provide support and maintenance of general terms & conditions in compliance with all applicable law, regulations and company policies
  • Promote the development of better, faster and smarter processes in line with company goals and reporting requirements

Required/Preferred Skills:

  • Legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
  • Experience in commodity trading and/or in contract administration strongly preferred
  • In-depth understanding of the movement of goods and Incoterms is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written on all levels
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Relationship building capabilities, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Strong team work ethic
  • Able to analyse documentation and ensure attention to detail whilst dealing with ambiguity
  • Proactive inter-dependent worker/ works within agreed parameters/ knows when to seek guidance from legal and functional experts, as required
  • Champions personal leadership and continuous improvement
  • Competent aptitude working with trading systems and Microsoft skills
