Contract Equipment Engineer

The Equipment Engineer is required to support the technical team within the "Responsible Designer" for Turnkey Contracts related to the Design, Manufacture, Installation and Commissioning (DMIC) of the Solid Radwaste Treatment System for the UK EPR projects.

Qualifications and Experience

Ideally candidates should possess:

  • Mechanical or Process Degree or HND
  • Experience with the review and acceptance of design documentation produced by contractors
  • Experience in a relevant industry such as, waste processing (nuclear), power plant design/operations (nuclear), EPC contract management (FIDIC), oil and gas/chemical processing
  • They should possess good written and spoken English and be a confident presenter
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements (CDM, COSHH, IRR, Environmental Permitting)

Desirable:

  • Mechanical, Electrical and C&I
  • Experience in design / manufacture of mechanical handling equipment (trolley systems, lifting equipment etc) preferably nuclear waste processing equipment.
  • Manufacturing experience including the review of manufacturing documentation such as welding, heat treatment, NDT documentation
  • Knowledge of Control and Instrumentation equipment.
  • FMEA / HAZOP experience.
  • Human Factors.
  • Maintenance requirements for mechanical handling equipment.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing and Commissioning.
  • Knowledge of radiation protection principles with design of equipment.
  • Experience with British / ISO standards and other design codes

Software and Tools: Microsoft, 3D Viewer

Language(s): Fluent English, French advantageous
