Location - Perth

Our client, a successful manufacturing business specialising in heating alloys, elements modules and systems for industrial heating and high temperature applications is seeking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Engineer to lead the implementation of Business Improvement methodologies and ways of working. Experience in driving continuous improvement and implementing lead initiatives within a manufacturing business is essential.

Candidate skills and qualifications:

  • Be educated to HND and/or Degree level in a relevant field (Engineering or Manufacturing
  • Have experience / qualifications in Six Sigma and Lean Principles
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in delivery of Continuous Improvement across processes, plant and equipment within a manufacturing based organisation.
  • Be proactive and have the ability to work on their own initiative
  • Be able to communicate effectively, displaying good presentation and influencing skills

Job Summary

  • Support implementation of the company Business System and drive continuous improvement throughout the organisation, utilising Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Engage the Manufacturing team in the continuous improvement process to ensure that projects are identified, prioritised and implemented in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in projects relating to introduction of new plant, process and productivity improvements, root cause analysis, cost reduction, yield improvements etc.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering departments regarding automation, design and tooling to effect improvements to production efficiency.
  • Develop sound working relationships with relevant departments to ensure communications are effective and all parties understand areas of responsibility and remit.
  • Maintain the quality system (ISO 9001:2000) and the HSE systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
