Our client is a UK leading engineering support services organisation and employs more than 34,000 people around the world.

Due to unprecedented growth our client is seeking a Constructive Design Engineer to join their business unit at their site in Plymouth for up to 12 months. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the planning and production of drawings and associated documentation in support of Design Projects.

  • Main responsibilities include:
  • Preparation/production of working drawings
  • Liaise with Project/Production/Contractors/Equipment Suppliers to overcome installation problems and provide support with technical queries
  • Assist Production/Test Groups with compilation of Test forms/procedures
  • Develop Innovative design solutions in reaction to operational defects or revised customer requirement

Requirements:

  • ONC or equivalent engineering academic qualification, completed a recognised apprenticeship scheme or equivalent
  • Understanding of engineering principles within a constructive filed (welding, fabrication, steelwork etc)
  • IT literate
  • AutoCAD experience or similar design tools
  • Marine experience essential
