Job description

Consent Advisor - Licensing

The Consent Advisor - Licensing is a cross-project role supporting survey efforts. This involves managing marine licensing and may include onshore consents and licences as needed.

The Consent Advisor - Licensing will collaborate closely with the Consent Discharge Offshore Lead to secure consents and licences required to execute the survey strategy on schedule.

While primarily focused on consents delivery and requiring expertise in onshore and offshore consent and licensing processes, this role involves significant cross-project and package interaction, demanding excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate marine licences and other consents and licences needed for onshore and offshore surveys.
  • Ensure the terms and conditions of all licences and consents are shared with the survey team promptly and accessibly, facilitating documentation and briefings for vessels and survey contractors.
  • Track and monitor consents compliance before, during, and after surveys.

Key Tasks:

  • Develop a consenting strategy for survey licensing under the guidance of the Consent Discharge Offshore Lead.
  • Consolidate and create trackers and monitoring tools to manage licensing and consenting activities, including pre- and post-application processes.
  • Document and socialize internal processes with the project team and ensure compliance.
  • Map the critical path with project schedule interfaces, identifying and sharing lessons learned.
  • Participate in go/no-go and mobilization meetings to address consenting matters.
  • Perform compliance checks through desktop reviews and site visits, liaising with regulators and consultees as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with the survey team, survey managers, health and safety team, and consent team members to identify and manage consenting and environmental risks. This includes hosting planned meetings, drop-in sessions, and responding to ad hoc queries.
  • Manage the delivery of inputs, such as scopes of work from survey managers, ensuring applications are well-defined and allow for flexibility as required.
  • Oversee external environmental consultants engaged to obtain necessary licences and consents, managing budgets, schedules, and quality.
