Connections Project Manager

Location: Slough

Salary: Up to £54k plus excellent benefits

Slough Heat and Power (SHP) provides electrical power to the Slough Trading Estate by means of a private electrical power network. It owns and operates a number of primary and secondary substations including 33kV, 11kV and LV assets.

The Connections Project Manager will support the network team within project management and delivery functions for the existing network and develop new connection requests in the estate. As part of the network team, you will be responsible for the delivery of the asset management and investment program to improve the health index and network safety and deliver the growth strategy for the network.

Within this role, you will have the responsibility of ensuring that project management principles are embedded in the operations and project delivery with a strong focus on health & safety, project control and governance. The projects shall be delivered according to the electrical power distribution standards and specifications for EHV, HV and LV networks in order to ensure that the network remains fully compliant with the technical and regulatory requirements.

As an experienced Project Manager, you will manage, plan and coordinate multiple live projects and associated resources, identify and managing risks when they arise. You will act as the point of contact interfacing with customer technical teams, agents and consultants as required in order to ensure an excellent customer service experience. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required for the successful delivery of the project and undertake external stakeholder and client meeting where required. A clear understanding of large connection projects lifecycle and stakeholder management experience is essential.

You will ensure projects are carried out as per the agreed scope, project budget and program of works and ensure compliance with Regulatory, Company and National standards and specifications in project delivery and hand-over of completed projects back to the networks. You will support the network in order to continuously improve performance, design and operational standards and specifications with own knowledge and experience, lessons learnt from the project, contributing to innovative solutions in future projects, risk management and mitigation.

You will have a strong understanding of electrical power industry regulatory standards for Distribution Network Operators. You will have solid experience in the management and delivery of EHV, HV and LV power system projects from tendering stage to project completion, with project experience to include new cable connections, diversions, new substations including switchgear and transformers, refurbishment/replacement of existing assets. You will have a strong focus on health and safety in the delivery of projects with experience of working to the 2015 CDM regulations, HSE and industry standards.

To be successful in this role you will ideally be Degree educated with excellent knowledge of project management software and databases. You will have experience in multidisciplinary project management, Steam/ Hot Water and Clean Water projects and diversion works would be an advantage
