918856 - Senior Completions Engineer

Job Description

  • Responsible for and provide completion and well testing engineering support for the client's development. Ensure HSE requirements are integral to all aspects of completion, well testing and well intervention activities including design and execution. The role is based within the business unit offices in London with international business trips
  • Key Accountabilities
  • Own and deliver detailed Basis of Designs for all well types.
  • Monitoring of contractor operational readiness, equipment manufacturing and acceptance testing.
  • Development of operational programmes for completions, workovers and well interventions
  • Interface with key stakeholder to ensure deliverables are achieved.
  • Assist in the contracting process for completion equipment and services tenders.
  • Input into on-Island based completion infrastructure and equipment.
  • Develop time and cost models for each completion type for input into the Wells cost model.
  • Ensure that all completion activities comply with our client's policies, Golden Rules and standards as well as all governmental and industry regulations.
  • Overall responsibility for optimising completions/testing/well intervention well planning, costing and operations.
  • Provides completions input to team and well engineering delivery objectives as necessary.
  • Ensures that all work within the area of responsibility is adequately documented and lessons learned are captured for the benefit of future client operations worldwide.
  • Ensure well material and service providers comply with specified quality assurance requirements.
  • Assist in the management of the service contracts and contractor performance process.
  • Provide on-time well engineering services which represent best industry practice
  • Participates in well and operations hazard assessments and HAZOPs and compiling well risk register and well barrier review.
  • Major Challenges
  • Liaise with sub-surface personnel to ensure reservoir requirements are delivered.
  • To interface with the subsea (HXT/WH) team to ensure completion requirements are fully integrated into the HXT designs.
  • Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal/external stakeholders and service companies.
  • Management of remote infrastructure and operations .
  • Financial accountability / activity indicators Not appropriate for this role.
  • Reporting and management relationships Reporting to:
  • Drilling, Logistics and Infrastructure Manager or delegate  Qualifications A University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineering but not essential.
  • Valid IWCF well control certification.
  • Valid offshore survival certification.

Personal Specification

  • Extensive experience as a completions engineer with operating companies Experience in completions operations from a semi-submersible.
  • Preference for knowledge and experience in supporting operations in remote locations.
  • Track record in contracting process for completion equipment and services.
  • London based role.
  • Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations):
  • Experience of working in regulated environments (UK, Norway) High proficiency with IT and industry software including
  • PetroFocus Completion's Manager or equivalent
  • WellCat
  • Tubing Movement Modelling
  • MS Suite
  • Attributes and behaviours:
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish good working relationships with team.
