Communications Advisor - Major Projects

The Corporate Communications Team has an opening for a Communications Advisor to our Major Projects Organization (MPO). This is a full-time contractor role and the successful candidate will be an energetic, results oriented problem-solver who enjoys delivering as part of a team and as an individual contributor. We juggle a variety of responsibilities in the organization and managing multiple project deadlines in a fast-paced environment is critical to our success. Previous experience working with major projects is required and strong writing skills are a must. Candidates must provide three writing samples with their resume.

This role contributes to the company storyline - connecting leaders and employees through compelling content, strengthening employee engagement, and driving accountability and results. While reporting into the Corporate Communications Manager, the major projects communications advisor will work directly with the major projects organization to develop and implement departmental and project-specific communications plans.


  • Develop and execute the overall MPO Communications Plan and associated deliverables
  • Plan and execute MPO events such as Town Hall Meetings to ensure team alignment
  • Develop and facilitate communications processes for the MPO and all projects in the investment portfolio
  • Liaise with external providers as needed to facilitate communications deliverables
  • Develop appropriate messaging for internal and external audiences
  • Build relationships with and provide communications counsel and support to MPO VP and leadership team
  • Facilitate and provide support for engagements with governmental agency stakeholders
  • Maintain an awareness of external risks
  • Collaborate with corporate communications team to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the company


  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Communications professional with 10 years of experience in developing, managing and executing strategic communications in support of business/function objectives
  • Direct experience in communications role for major/mega projects delivery (>$1 billion)
  • Strong writer, capable of writing in a variety of styles and tones, across many different channels/platforms/formats
  • Proven capabilities to deliver under time pressures and shifting priorities
