An exciting 12 month Fixed Term Contract has arisen for my client within their Global Supply Chain department, for a Commodity Manager. Reporting into the Senior Procurement Manager, you will manage both global and regional suppliers.

Key Accountabilities include;

  • Maintenance and support of Global and/or Regional Sourcing Strategies
  • Negotiation of pricing and terms that meet annual objectives
  • Responsibility for managing the business relationships with assigned suppliers, including resolution of escalated quality and delivery issues
  • Implementation of Global Procurement programmes, including: Annual Cost Reviews, Annual Process Reviews, Annual Scorecards
  • Review Capacities and support elimination of shortages issues within areas of responsibility
  • Providing support concerning commercial issues for new product development projects
  • Participation in Global Sourcing Strategies
  • Capability and risk assessment of assigned suppliers

The ideal canddiate will require;

  • Minimum degree qualified in engineering or business related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years procurement or related experience in a commercial environment
  • Broad technical understanding of engineering and manufacturing components
  • Proven skills in purchasing, negotiation and problem resolution
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Relentless focus on excellence and continuous improvement
  • Must be capable of working in a highly matrix reporting environment
