Job Title:

Commercial Contracts Manager and Surveyor - New Installation

Definition of the role:

Proving commercial support to a busy construction installation team, including full contract review and management from tender to completion. This is a unique and varied role, with a lot of scope for training and development

Commercial Director

Location:

London or Nottingham

Some UK Travel will be involved, with the potential of some European wide travel for internal meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support to our New Installations Sales and Projects Teams with incoming tendors and orders - including full contract review. A cover to cover review and report on terms and conditions, specification (supported by Sales and Projects) and all supplementary documentation.
  • Feedback to the client regarding the contract content, including terms and all additional documentation. This will include extensive negotiations and client meetings. Fast turnaround of commentary etc.
  • Management of the finalisation of the Contract Agreement
  • Completion of the necessary preparations for bonds and warranties, and contract approvals, where required.
  • Ensuring group standards and requirements are met, and approval from the Parent Company is sought, where required. Preparation of internal documentation for this.
  • Full ownership and management of the administrative processing and booking of order - liaison with Finance, Installation Team and the Parent Company.
  • Feedback to the Projects Team on the key concerns and requirements of the contract, ensuring commercial risks and opportunities are understood.
  • Support the Projects Team with successful delivery of projects, including:
    • Full commercial support with site management and following the correct contractual procedure for key site events,
    • Ensuring project costs are managed, and costs and events are correctly recorded and notified.
    • Ensuring applications are made in due time to minimise risk and ensure payments are then made in line with the contract.
  • Attending necessary meetings internally and externally to ensure contracts are being fulfilled.
  • Maintenance and monitoring of key project files.
  • Management of key project finance with the Project Manager, including the application process and final account negotiation.
  • Management of claims and dispute resolution.
  • Advising acceptable company standards and protecting the company's interests.
  • General support to the Commercial Department
  • Assisting with the drafting and management of Supplier Sub-Contracts

BACKGROUND/PROFILE

Skills, Experience and Education

Excellent document management skills

Excellent communication skills at all levels

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word

Qualified to degree level or similar in a relevant specialism

Preferably RICS Qualified

Evidenced experience in reviewing the legal terms and conditions of contracts.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in the lift industry and knowledge of main institutionalised construction contracts
