As part of the Responsible Designer for the project, our Client provides Engineering Design support for the Balance of the Nuclear Island (BNI).

Assignment Scope:

The Civil Engineer ensures the production and monitoring of the civil engineering of the buildings on the Nuclear Island to which they are assigned and proposes technical solutions.

Main Accountabilities:

Civil Engineering design of the diesel building

  • Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.
  • Produce the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes, load drawings, load reports).
  • Coordinate the work of CAD Designer in conjunction with the Design Office Manager.
  • Create and maintain and be responsible for the Design Risk Register



  • Civil Engineer Degree
  • Design office experience
  • Very good Knowledge of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering
  • Expertise level in design of concrete structures
  • Knowledge of civil work concrete design software (such as Robot, Tekla, ETABS/SAP2000, Ansys, Effel)
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
  • Proficient user MS Office & Outlook
  • Concise, conscientious, organised with good writing skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative
  • Results focused with the ability to meet commitments & deadlines
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Fluent English - written & verbal


  • Experience in plant layout engineering
  • PDMS user knowledge
  • Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects
  • French Language skills - written & verbal
