Our client is looking to add to their Civil Structural & Architectural team, based in Barrow-In-Furness, on a major nuclear project.

Title: Civil Structural & Architectural Engineer

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

Duration: 12 Months Initially

Proposed Responsibilities

  • To audit designers SQEP within the CS&A discipline on behalf of the project.
  • To support the AEM and EM in the development of designs. To support the Programme intelligent client capability.
  • To provide assurance to the Facilities Chief Engineer that all aspects within the CS&A discipline have been carried out to an acceptable standard.
  • To liaise with other engineering areas of Barrow site to ensure best practice is applied to the engineering of Barrow Site Redevelopment Programme and a common approach and specification where appropriate.
  • To review and accept, with the Designer, Design Submissions from the Contractor on behalf of the Design Authority; To respond to all Technical Queries to BAES SRP arising from the Designer.
  • To review and endorse Designer response to all Technical Queries arising from the Contractor/Sub-contractors.
  • To respond to all Technical Queries arising from Stakeholders, Operations, etc. on CSA scope.
  • To achieve Designer completion of remaining CS&A works.
  • To close-out remaining CS&A works by Design Review and closure of Caveats and Forward Actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Plant Safety Case requirements.
  • Successful receipt of all Handover information, As-built drawings etc. following completion.

Desired Profile

  • Civil and Structural Engineer (Chartered or working towards) with experience in nuclear build and Architectural design.
  • To work in the Project Engineering team, taking ownership of aspects of the engineering as required by the Engineering Manager.
