Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Civil & Structural Engineer on a contract basis OUTSIDE of IR35. The position will be based in Buckinghamshire.

Extensive experience in oil & gas process design with strong technical knowledge in all Civil & Structural specialties and a full understanding/experience of the various scopes of projects across all project phases, including PMC.

The outline scope of deliverables covers:

  • Guaranteeing the compliance of Civil/ Structural design & engineering solutions within client requirements, industry standards and Group HSE, engineering processes and best practices.
  • Knowledge of plant layout and piping design including - layout of pipework, layout of areas for mechanical equipment, as well as development of access & maintenance requirements.
  • Technical participation in constructability reviews and design reviews.
  • Providing demonstrable knowledge of European, American, and international standards applicable to the petrochemical industry.
  • Full appreciation of latest functional safety requirements.
  • Background in leading multi-office projects, and also exposure to UK Projects.

Candidates will require high-level knowledge of preparing & checking the following:

  • The basis of designs.
  • Specifications.
  • Data sheets.
  • Material Take-offs
  • Requisitions.
  • Technical bid evaluations.
  • Layout & Detailed drawings.
  • Capability to participate in and contribute to project, client and vendor meetings.
