Job Title: CDM Advisor (£40,000 - £60,000)

Location: Bristol

Background: This role offers an opportunity for an experienced CDM Advisor to play a key role in the development of a new nuclear build. The role will be based in Bristol but may require travel to London to support the SZC

Role: * To support the Principal Designer role, in the capacity of CDM Advisor * To support the Client, Principal Contractor and Designers (primarily contract partners but some in-house) as and when necessary * To ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and client requirements * To ensure risk management objectives are met, comprehensible documentation is produced and support scheduling through proactive engagement and a willingness to find solutions to challenges * To promote best practice, industry guidance and innovation, to align with statutory and client requirements on a high profile.

Key Responsibilities: * Help the organisation perform its role of Principal Designer in compliance with CDM Regulations * Assist Contract Lead Engineers, Building Leads, Technical Leads and other key appointments in the coordination of health and safety management, design risk management, adherence to statutory provisions, NNB standards and best practice and general matters within each multi-disciplinary team * Perform the surveillance of design activities (with regards to CDM and health & safety) * Chair / ensure CDM Review meetings are held regularly with necessary intervention * Produce KPIs when required to encourage transparency of delivery across DET's delivery and that of its contract partners * Ensure the design risk management process satisfies the general principles of prevention * Maintain and 'open issues' risk log to ensure ongoing design risk management.

Qualifications and Experience: * 5 years related experience in engineering and health and safety management. * NEBOSH Construction Certificate/Diploma or equivalent qualification * Professional Membership(s) with IOSH, APS, ICE etc. * Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation * Experience and knowledge of UK Building Regulations * Experience and knowledge of Fire Legislation and Best Practice * Experience on large engineering/infrastructure projects.
