920458 - Calibration Team Leader

We are currently working with our client to recruit a Calibration Team Leader

Primary Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the delivery of the laboratory services in accordance with customer and company objectives, ensuring all equipment is calibrated within turnaround times agreed with customers.
  • Ensure all members of the laboratory teams follow the correct methods and procedures when carrying out their duties and to ensure consistent and accurate service to clients.
  • Review methods, procedures, training matrices, amending/introducing any that are non -existent or out of date, to ensure conformance with the relevant standards, client/internal audits.
  • Ensure that the laboratory equipment is fit for purpose and that the laboratory staff are trained and comply with the required standards/methods.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication with team members to achieve appropriate levels of understanding of, and commitment to, appropriate business objectives.
  • Maintain relations with clients to enhance trust, understanding and an awareness of site trends/developments.
  • Ensure all employees have the appropriate level of skills, knowledge and experience in order to provide a high quality service to customers, and to provide access to relevant developmental opportunities that will continually improve our services and help realise personal career goals, instigating training activities when required.
  • Develop and maintain a lean and accountable local team structure that encourages employees to take ownership of operational issues/opportunities at appropriate levels.
  • Drive performance management at appropriate levels, supported by adherence to the Company's Performance Management framework, by appraising, coaching, counselling and developing direct reports, ensuring each individual has a set of objectives and is given an annual performance appraisal to ensure effective communication of individual, team & business goals and address any areas for improvement immediately and in a constructive manner.

Skills and Experience

  • Must be computer literate in use of MS software.
  • Must have and maintain a working knowledge of calibration equipment
  • Must operate efficient, organised management / QA systems
  • Must have experience of operating in a multi-disciplined engineering environment where core competencies are routinely adhered to and utilised.
  • Experience of performing dimensional calibrations on a wide variety of equipment.
  • Must have the capacity to demonstrate problem solving abilities from initial fault diagnosis to investigation and resultant corrective action and implementation.
  • Experience in the provision of calibration services.
  • Experience of preparing detailed procedures and documentation.
  • Must have experience of communication with internal / external clients and issuance of technical reports and feedback.

Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship in engineering or related subject.

This is a permanent position
