921014 - Buyer

We are currently looking to recruit a Buyer for a contract position based in the North of Scotland

The main purpose of the role will be to provide support to the Supply Chain Manager in purchasing of required materials, services and equipment.

Duties may include but not be limited to:

  • To be fully conversant with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures and complies with them at all times.
  • To source and purchase all materials and equipment requested by the rig and approved by the appropriate Operations Manager.
  • To ensure all materials and equipment are purchased in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • To purchase of material and equipment in accordance with the company approved vendor listing.
  • To report to the Supply Chain Manager any problem areas or where policies and procedures are not being fully complied with.
  • To assist accounts payable in the processing of queries or discrepancies relating to vendor invoices.
  • To assist operations in all matters relating to the purchase of materials, services and equipment for all areas that report to this office.
  • To organise all purchasing and required documentation on b behalf of assigned MODUs.
  • Provide primary liaison with offshore storekeeper and regarding requisition status, advising of any purchasing difficulties.
  • To co-ordinate as necessary shipyard project materials.
  • Assist Operations Managers in identifying and r educing high cost areas.
  • To participate in duty rota.
  • To provide purchasing/costs report to Materials Manager when requested.
  • To work as an integral part of a team.
  • To identify Non-conformances and liaise with suppliers regarding Corrective Actions.
  • To assist the Supply Chain Manager in Vendor Performance Monitoring.
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley procedures are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with Company HSEQ initiatives

This is a contract position

The rate for this position is negotiable
