Laboratory Support Specialist (13288553)

Framingham, MA

6+ months initial contract

Hourly Rate: $28/hr

Orion Group is seeking for a Business Support Specialist to work with our premiere Medical Device Manufacturing client. The business support specialist plays an essential role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the busy LC-MS focused laboratory, located in Framingham, MA.

This role also supports the entire North America team of field and lab-based scientists, and management, by providing assistance with scheduling, logistics and reporting.

This critical role is dynamic, varied and a wonderful opportunity for a motivated individual with an interest in supporting laboratory and field operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Application Team Support:

  • Field, lab, and technical support team scheduling support.
  • Ownership of the overall team calendar and scheduling process.
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of financials and key performance indicators using current systems (Salesforce.com and Oracle)

II. Customer visit logistics: booking rooms, ordering supplies, printing and catering.

III. Laboratory Operation Support:

  • Ordering supplies & maintaining up-to-date inventory.
  • Solution preparation.
  • Maintaining lab equipment (pH meter, balance, pipettes, etc).
  • Managing calibrations, preventative maintenance schedules and equipment service.
  • Glassware management.
  • General lab organization.
  • Basic LC-MS maintenance and testing.
  • Updating lab visual management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic laboratory experience is desirable.
  • Experience with salesforce.com preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle preferred.
  • Very comfortable with Microsoft Office.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to work well in a dynamic lab where priorities may shift.
  • Excellent communication skills
