We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Business Excellence Advisor - Corporate and Project Support on a contract basis to be part of a mega project in a hybrid capacity based in Calgary with travel to the project site in BC to provide support as needed.

About The Role

The role, Business Excellence Advisor is an integral member of the Business Excellence team. The purpose of this role is to:

  • Drive performance focus and issue resolution to frontline, through execution strategies focused on area, scope, or module;
  • Increase meeting effectiveness while removing preparatory redundant meetings to free up time for project execution;
  • Enhance timeliness of data flow to support real-time performance dialogues;
  • Develop a challenger mindset to identify the risks and opportunities in contractor plans and the skills to directly test with critical stakeholders; support strategies to develop a high-performing org to deliver the project.
  • Support/manage as necessary the interfaces with key Stakeholders, such as Joint Venture Partners in support of the Business Excellence Manager.
  • This role has high exposure and visibility with Leadership Members through the support of key activities that are lead by the Business Excellence Manager such as Annual Management Reviews and Annual Goal Setting exercises.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Prepare, align, and deliver the construction portion of the playbook.
  • Manage the sequence of events that enable a complete playbook monthly.
  • Provide timely input of Construction related activities into the Monthly Report.
  • Provide Construction input to Reporting Lead on a bi-weekly basis feeding the JVP Bi-Weekly updates.
  • Act as the Risk Management Focal point for specific site risk specifically being Workforce Risks, requiring engagement with Area Construction Managers to manage risks through EasyRisk.
  • Provide direct support to Site Construction Managers and Project Business Excellence Manager.

This role requires that you have/are:

  • Project Controls and Project Management Degrees will be a distinct advantage.
  • Business Advisor experience would be an advantage.
  • Background in in Construction, Manufacturing, or Energy industries is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting various disciplines including project controls, maintenance, operations, and EPC project teams.
  • Significant negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated personal commitment to HSSE and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
  • Developed strong working relationships within and outside your team, stakeholders having boosted co-operation and a One Team approach transcending into multi-disciplinary delivery.

This role requires that you:

  • Lead and deliver in a complex megaproject delivery environment, spanning multiple geographies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of a non-operated joint venture and how it supports the delivery of the company's business strategy developing business intimacy through working with business and execution partner teams.
  • Are willing to comply with the company's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Have current work visa requirements
