My client is looking to hire a thought leader to drive their Circular Business Initiative. The Business Development Manager for Aromatics Circular Economy will lead the company's efforts in the Aromatics recycling area. The successful candidate will work closely with Marketing, Commercial and Technology teams of the Global Petrochemicals business. They will also interface with thec ompany's Government & Public Affairs, Integrated Supply and Trading, Upstream, and their Fuels Retail businesses to drive and implement an action plan that leverages synergies within the group and allows Petrochemicals to deploy its proprietary sustainability solution. He/she will lead these initiatives and work to establish the company as a leader in sustainability initiatives within the Chemicals industry.

Key accountabilities:

* Using their expertise in the waste and post-consumer plastic value chain they will be accountable for driving the implementation of the business unit's recycling solution.

* Coordinate all work streams of the Global recycling program which will require a close partnership with Marketing, Commercial, Technology and Strategy within Petrochemicals

* Evaluate synergies with all circularity programs within the the company and ensure they are leveraged as part of the project

* Liaise with Government and Public Affairs to keep abreast of all legislative efforts that will impact the project and lead the interaction for all subsequent GPA activities

* Develop a comprehensive project plan encompassing all work streams and processes to monitor and track progress

* Coordinate internal Petrochemical resources and third parties for the flawless execution of the project and ensure the project is delivered on-time, within scope and within budget

* Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

* Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques

* Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

* Stay informed of major competitors environmental changes, directions, material uses, etc.

Essential education:

Bachelors in Engineering or Science with focus on: Polymer recycling, material science and/or environmental science, polymer science and / or packaging technology experience

Essential experience:

* Significant experience and a track record of operating at a senior level in the waste, reclamation or post-consumer plastic sector.

* Experience in project management of large recycling projects with a track record of effective delivery

* Proficient in the regulatory environment on circularity in Europe, China and North America with an understanding of the main EPR schemes

* Experience in leading and developing teams

* Deep understanding of environmental sustainability best practices, trends, innovation, and solutions

* Multicultural experience, strong interpersonal and leadership, communication and negotiation skills are required

* Organized and structured with the ability to effectively communicate programs and initiatives


* Prior business development expertise desirable, including an MBA.

* Knowledge in polymers and their processing is preferred.

* International experience preferred.
