Job Title: Balance of Plant Mechanical Engineer

Location: Kent, Medway Power Station

Job Brief:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Balance of Plant Engineer will be part of an inclusive and high performing team, working across disciplines and departments, as required to deliver the role.

Key Duties:

  • Management of works to ensure a safe working environment;
  • Delivery of compliance with legislation and industry best practice;
  • Management of Projects;
  • Delivery of an effective outage strategy;
  • Optimising the maintenance strategy to meet with the needs of our customers / stakeholders
  • Driving innovation to achieve improvements in plant performance;
  • Contract management of key suppliers;
  • Budget Management
  • These are in relation to the balance of plant (e.g. HRSG's, cooling towers, condensers, pumps, valves, pipework etc.) and mechanical assets of the power plant.

The Candidate:

To be successful in this role ideally you will be educated to a minimum of HND level in a mechanical discipline and will have operated within a similar role within a comparable engineering industry. Experience working with HRSG's or similar will be essential.

Due to your background, you'll have good knowledge of contract legislation, regulation relating to Health and Safety and legislation for mechanical systems.

Good communication skills are essential, and you'll have a demonstrable record of building teams, with a passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
