Fantastic opportunity with our client in Moray for an ATEX Inspector

Job Purpose.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out ATEX inspections throughout distilleries in Moray. The candidate will be required to produce and maintain inspection records in conjunction with other members of the engineering team.

Key Elements of Job

  1. Operate as a member of the engineering department.
  2. Carry out tasks as required by the engineering management team.
  3. Contribute to planning and organising an EX inspection, data gathering and data recording system to meet current regulations.
  4. Implement plans in a determined and efficient manner.
  5. Report progress to the engineering manager weekly.
  6. Use the site maintenance management system, historical inspection reports, Drawing and publications to facilitate plan.
  7. Log relevant information resulting from inspections in electronic format with full and accurate assessment feedback.

Qualifications and Personal Profile

  • Must Have Compex Ex01-Ex04 and a BS7671 Qualification
  • It would be Advantageous for the candidate to have Compex Ex05-Ex06 IPAF and a 3a & 3b Certificate
  • Good communicator that is able to operate on own initiative
  • Driven to achieve targets
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems an advantage
  • Good computer data logging skills.
  • Understanding of the general principles of explosion protection
  • Understanding of the general principles of types of protection and marking
  • Understanding of those aspects of equipment design which affect the protection concept
  • Understanding of the additional importance of permit to work systems and safe isolation in relation to explosion protection
  • Familiarity with the particular techniques to be employed in the inspection and maintenance of equipment referred to in BS EN 60079-17
  • Comprehensive understanding of the selection and erection requirements of IEC 60079-14
  • General understanding of the repair and reclamation requirements of IEC 60079-19
