Worcester, MA
Hourly Rate: $30/hr
6+ month initial contract (possible extension)

Orion Group is seeking an Associate Scientist to work with our premiere Pharmaceutical Manufacturing client in Worcester, MA. This role will work closely with Principal Investigator and other members in the team. They will work in the murine vivarium lab as well as BSL2 immunology lab setting. This is an On-site role; with 1-day remote flexibility for data analysis, and 4 days on-site required.


Job Responsibilities:
* Under minimal supervision, conduct moderately complex in vivo experiments.
* Ensure compliance with animal care and occupational safety regulations
* Process tissue samples for downstream applications.


Must have skills:
* In-vivo skills, especially on mice.
* Sampling, profiling, and processing of tissue samples for downstream applications in a timely manner\ - Tissue homogenizing, qRT-PCR, ELISA, MSD.
* Familiarity with statistical and research methodology
* Ability to work both independently as well as within project teams

Required credentials - education, and/or certification:
* BS or MS in dermatology, immunology, biology, or related field with a minimum of 3 years "hand-on" in vivo experience.
* Have background knowledge of skin biology and/or immunology is highly desired.
* Nice to have in vitro experiences.
* Experience using analytical methods such as FACS, ELISA, immunoblotting and others as needed.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to independently review, analyze, and interpret experimental results.
* Highly motivated, with a sense of urgency and flexibility.
* Organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
