We have an excellent opportunity for and Assistant Accountant to join our Group Finance team in our Inverness Head Office on a 12 month fixed term contract. Predominately providing assistance in the day-to-day maintenance of financial records for our Rail division, the successful candidate will preferably have previous experience within construction / project accounting whilst demonstrating a good attention to detail, organising a diverse workload and working to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with production of balance sheet reconciliations for one or more of the reporting entities within the Orion Group, including Bank Reconciliations.
  • Preparation and processing of journals to assist the Financial Controller in production of monthly management accounts.
  • Update working paper files, under the supervision of the Financial Controller.
  • Set-up payments for authorising by Financial Controller.
  • Under the direction of the Financial Controller maintain the monthly management accounts Spreadsheet, and any other ad-hoc reporting required at Group level.
  • Assist in the month end reporting cycle, including but not limited to Inter Company reconciliations and present to Financial Controller for authorisation.
  • Assist with the Annual budget and forecast preparation.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual audit working papers and schedules.
  • Assist in the production of Group Cash flow for review by Treasury Manager.
