An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Part Qualified Assistant Accountant to join one of the Orion Groups clients in West Lothian. Our client are not just leaders in their field but are also innovators of the work they carry out in their specific sector. As a result of growth and part re-structure they are looking for someone to come in to a position that offers great support and progression. Ideally you will be studying towards an official Accountancy qualification with a desire to progress your career in the months and years to come.

You will report into the Group Finance Manager and the main duties of the role will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of forecast and regular re-forecasts
  • Manage various ledgers ensuring accurate postings
  • Preparation of Journals and analysis for month end close
  • Manage the reconciliation review process
  • Support the team ensuring workloads are managed and direction is provided
  • Support the wider operational teams with finance processes and controls
  • VAT reporting and analysis of accuracy

For this position we are looking for an energetic and driven accountant who has demonstrable experience of performing the duties above to a high standard. You will need to have good systems experience, preferably ERP systems, but candidates that have strong competence in other systems, that can be displayed, will also be considered.

The ideal candidate for this role will also have some team managment experience, ideally managing or coaching at least 2 people.

You will be organised and able to communicate with finance and non-finance staff. In return you will be given a generous basic salary, study support and various other benefits.
