Asset Technology Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a Asset Technology Lead with our client; a market leader in renewable energy, managing the development, design, construction, maintenance, and market optimisation of large-scale projects across the UK, and more recently in Europe.

This is a permanent staff position based in Reading although the client is open to flexible working options.

Due to our phenomenal growth, we are seeking an Asset Technology Lead to join our expanding Operations, Maintenance and Optimisation business. The postholder, as the subject matter expert in energy asset management and operational systems, will develop and oversee the delivery of a technology strategy which contributes significantly to supporting business growth plans.

The incumbent be responsible for developing the technology strategy for existing and future energy asset management and operational systems, including SCADA and Optimisation systems, which will support renewable distributed generation assets.

In this role the individual will own the relationship with the relevant, strategically important technology providers and will work in partnership with O&M, Optimisation and the wider EPC delivery teams to ensure appropriate 'best in class' asset technology support. The technology, which is diverse and varied, is critical to our approach to asset management. The individual will be a key member of the delivery team and will have a significant role in building and maintaining 'best in class' technology capability for the business as well as safe and reliable management of customer and merchant assets.

Qualifications & experience

  • Principle / lead of engineering, Operational Technology in Battery Energy Storage, experience of PV would add value.
  • Extensive experience managing significant hardware, software or technology strategy, procurement or software implementation projects.
  • Proven experience of substantial and continuous operational or technology improvement and innovation.
  • A solid understanding of distributed energy technologies including, Battery Energy Storage and Ground mounted solar PV.
  • Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision and targets, develop and execute associated strategies, and to track and measure results (performance metrics).
  • Experience in managing complex vendor, supplier, sub-contractor relationships.
  • A good understanding of NGESO services Grid code.
