Administrative Assistant

Temporary until June 2023

Rate of pay £12.33 per hour

Hours of work - 37 per week, Monday to Friday

This role contributes administrative support across a range of activities within the faculty, and provides dedicated support to senior Professional Services colleagues, Head of Division, and academic staff.

Qualifications, experience and attributes:

  • Good educational background (at least HND level) or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven experience in administration, preferably in the Education sector
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience of operating Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
  • Experience of working in a busy, customer-focused administrative environment
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload
  • Resilient with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including colleagues, students, academics and professional services staff
  • Ability work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of dealing with confidential issues with tact, diplomacy and sensitivity
  • Demonstrable ability to identify problems and propose solutions
  • Creative and positive attitude with a commitment to service quality
  • Flexible and a willingness to learn and develop
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures
