Orion Group are delighted to be working with a well know business based in the heart of Glasgow City Centre. We are looking for a presentable, experienced Accounts Assistant who is available on relatively short notice (4 weeks).

The role is replacing an existing member of staff and you will report directly into the finance manager. Occasional travel is required to sites close by so a diving license and access to a car would be beneficial.

What the role involves:

  • Processing high volume purchase ledger
  • Reconcilaitions
  • Assist higher management with month end
  • Maintain the cashbook
  • Look after the sales ledger
  • Speak with other departments to find out information and report to management on sales and profit
  • Stock reports
  • Credit control duties, reducing aged debt
  • Ad hoc tasks

Experience which would be beneficial:

  • Experience in a high volume environment with deadlines
  • 2/3 years experience in a similar role
  • Good all round systems knowledge, MS Excel, Sage 50
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role, will have to deal with customers from time to time
  • College or University Degree in Accountancy would be advantageous
